Meet my very first claymation character! I just finished him today and it took me an hour to make it. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist so it took me longer than it should have plus give me a break it’s my first time!

This is for a production class called the Memory Project and I decided to take a shot at claymation since I got (a little) fed up with the stress of making a digital video (renting equipment, getting crew, getting cast, schedules, BLAH). So here I am. Creating an almost solo video (I DO have someone helping me with lighting and someone to act).

The clay I am using is FIMO Classic. I was told to use FIMO Soft but the store I went to had none of the soft. So in the end I had to spend 48$ on a tiny square of clay. But to be completely honest it’s actually good to work with, it molds into the shape I make. The downside is the color. The color (or dye, dunno what it is) sticks on the skin. For example when I was making the hair for my claymation character I had black all over my palms.
