The final video for the Memory Project.
This is the escalator that I made for my Claymation. It’s made out of Ritz crackers box, and Fiber1 Peanut Butter boxes (just being specific you know lol).
It has cardboard, tape and copper wiring. The steps weren’t really necessary since I didn’t use them in the making of the claymation but I added them for the sake of looking fancy and escalator-like. I was going to paint it black but I decided not to because they won’t even be seen in the video. However, the two white flappy things at the end are actually covered with a very thin layer of black clay right now.
You can’t really see it but it’s crooked. It leans more on the left wall and the stairs are higher on the right wall. But it’s not really noticeable so it’s all good. You can only see it form up close.
Even if it doesn’t rotate like a real escalator, I did a pretty SWELL job at making the escalator! LOL
This is when I fixed “George“‘s arms. They are no longer floppy and more solid. I detached the arms and inserted copper wire into the “new” arms, then re-attached the arms. So I learned my lesson to put copper wire in arms so that they’re not “boneless” and can be controlled and look less like they’re melting. The hands are hopeless. I have more to learn and time is ticking and I don’t have time to make an intricate clay handwith full 5 fingers.
I also inserted copper into the legs and the shoulders (this time without detaching the legs). I find that with the copper, the character is much easier to control compared to the melting, floppy, boneless character.
I also decided to redo the eyes since they don’t look very much like eyes anymore.
That’s about it…
This project is due soon! SO more on it will go online!

My 2010 Easter video.
Another one of those commercials I made for the E-journalism class. This one was one of the shortest and it’s the only one with good lighting.
This is a commercial I worked on for an E-journal class in 2009. I got the idea, shot it, and composed the soundtrack. A classmate (the person whose YouTube account the video is on) is the one who edited the video. She is also the one that’s dressed in all white.
It’s definitely not my best work but it’s what made me pass the class! =D
This was the first video assignment for the Memory Project. We were told to make a YouTube style video (meaning crappy) and recreate someone’s memory from the class.
I did all the voices. Drew the backgrounds (yes I’m not much of an artist- I know). Used iMovie since I was too lazy to use Final Cut. And it took me 45mins to make it.
You might want to turn up the volume since some parts of it (90%) is low sound.
Meet my very first claymation character! I just finished him today and it took me an hour to make it. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist so it took me longer than it should have plus give me a break it’s my first time!
This is for a production class called the Memory Project and I decided to take a shot at claymation since I got (a little) fed up with the stress of making a digital video (renting equipment, getting crew, getting cast, schedules, BLAH). So here I am. Creating an almost solo video (I DO have someone helping me with lighting and someone to act).
The clay I am using is FIMO Classic. I was told to use FIMO Soft but the store I went to had none of the soft. So in the end I had to spend 48$ on a tiny square of clay. But to be completely honest it’s actually good to work with, it molds into the shape I make. The downside is the color. The color (or dye, dunno what it is) sticks on the skin. For example when I was making the hair for my claymation character I had black all over my palms.
Anyway that’s it for today. More will be posted about the project on here.
